Welcome to Ten Thousand Villages Perimeter Place in Atlanta, GA

Ten Thousand Villages Opens Friday, July 18 at Perimeter Place!

World’s largest Fair Trade retailer expands in Atlanta market

Ten Thousand Villages, the world’s largest and one the oldest fair trade retailers of artisan-crafted products, is proud to announce the opening of its newest location! “This is a great opportunity to expand the mission of Ten Thousand Villages,” said Craig Schloneger, Ten Thousand Villages U.S. Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to working with the community to spread the mission of fair trade into the mainstream Atlanta market.”

Ten Thousand Villages is celebrating the occasion by hosting ‘One Fabulous Fiesta’ on Friday, July 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the store. The event will feature
lively Latin music and tasty fiesta-inspired cuisine prepared by Ramon’s Mexican Kitchen. Grand opening guests can cool off with a fresh glass of organic, fair trade iced tea from Equal Exchange tea bar while perusing Ten Thousand Villages' newest product collection, inspired by the bright light and festive flavors of Fiesta.

Featuring products from more than 130 artisan groups in 36 countries, Ten Thousand Villages Perimeter Place will allow customers in the greater Atlanta area another location to purchase handcrafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items from across the globe. The Perimeter Place location will replace the Sandy Springs Ten Thousand Villages location slated to close in August, 2008 and joins the first Atlanta store at Virginia Highlands (1056 St. Charles Avenue NE, one block north of Ponce de Leon Avenue).

For more than 60 years, Ten Thousand Villages has been establishing long-term buying relationships in places where skilled artisans lack opportunities for stable income. All artisans are fairly paid for their products. Ten Thousand Villages Perimeter Place is the newest store in a network of more than 145 retail outlets throughout the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages products.
